Obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound
Ultrasound consists of high-frequency sound waves that create a picture of the structure of the body and its organs. The technique of performing an ultrasound consists in placing a probe that generates echoes on the skin and the images are displayed on a monitor. Ultrasounds are used during pregnancy and can tell us the following:
- If you have an ectopic pregnancy.
- There's more than one baby.
- Verify the delivery date.
- Check the fetal growth.
- Help verify pregnancy loss.
- Perform a prenatal diagnosis.
- Diagnose certain birth defects.
- Check the well-being of the fetus.
- Help choose the delivery method, etc.
In gynecology, ultrasounds can be vaginal or abdominal but most of the time it is done vaginally since the images of the ovaries and uterus are larger and clearer than in abdominal ultrasounds.
Abdominal ultrasounds can be used when a woman has not yet had sexual intercourse or in special cases.
It is important for Provida Fertility Clinic to offer all our patients a professional and personalized treatment for their specific needs.

4D Ultrasound
The 4D ultrasound offers you the incredible opportunity to see your baby, his face, his gestures, and his movements in real time, in other words, you can see him on video. This last option is ideal for all parents, as it can help them see in a more real way what their baby looks like, and what their most distinctive features are, such as his nose, eyes, the shape of his mouth, etc.
It is a safe procedure and does not represent any damage or risk to the baby, which is why it is recommended at any time during the pregnancy, and you can even have or repeat as many 4D ultrasounds as you wish.
